Chief Executive Officer Axel Berger joins the Supervisory Board, Dr. Marcus Söldner succeeds him
Prezes zarządu CarGarantie Axel Berger przejdzie do rady nadzorczej przedsiębiorstwa.
Axel Berger (62), CEO of CG Car-Garantie Versicherungs-AG (CarGarantie), will join the company's Supervisory Board on 1 January 2019.
Dr. Marcus Söldner will take over as CEO and chairman of the Management Board and lead the company together with Wolfgang Bach, Chief Financial Officer and Head of General Administration.
After more than 20 years on the Management Board, including 12 years as CEO, Axel Berger has decided to move to the Supervisory Board. Mr. Berger joined CarGarantie in 1989 and held various sales management positions until he became a member of the Management Board. In addition to his very strong operational activities in sales, his strategic decisions – most recently the establishment of the international cooperation IWS – have continually influenced the company's success. With today's premium volume of 200 million euros and cooperations with over 40 manufacturers and 23,000 specialist dealers, the Freiburg-based specialist insurer has developed from a national company into one of the European market leaders in the warranty insurance sector for the automotive industry. Today, the company has an international presence in 22 countries throughout Europe and Asia.
The new Chief Executive Officer Dr. Marcus Söldner (47) has been a member of the Management Board of CarGarantie for 2.5 years and was responsible for the Western and Eastern European and Asian markets as well as the areas of Business Development and Marketing prior to his appointment. Before joining CarGarantie, he held various management positions in the automotive industry, including international positions at Allianz, BMW Group and Nissan.
After assuming global responsibility for Nissan's warranty business as Managing Director of Nissan Global Reinsurance, Ltd., he joined CarGarantie in 2016.
Wolfgang Bach (60) is responsible for Finance, Controlling, Product Controlling, IT and Human Resources as Chief Financial Officer and Head of General Administration. With the move of Axel Berger to the Supervisory Board, he will take over further internal areas such as Warranty Management and the Legal Department. Before joining CarGarantie, he held various executive board positions in the Gothaer Group.
The Management Board's explicit goal is to further expand its European market leadership. The focus will be on extending dealer and manufacturer cooperations, developing additional products in the warranty and customer loyalty sector and further strengthening services.
